Kotara: the ridge corridor.
Between Charlestown and Newcastle the ridge carries a band of established, leafy streets, and Kotara is the heart of it. The houses are settled, the trees are grown, and a lot of the garage doors have been quietly working since the eighties. This is servicing and honest-upgrade country.

Local note
Flatter streets, same instrument.
Kotara's blocks are gentler than the ridge-side streets, and its doors show it: fewer out-of-square dramas, more honest wear-and-tear. We bring the same discipline anyway. The level goes on the tracks before any verdict, because a door that's been adjusted to a slightly-off opening for twenty years often just needs to be re-taught where square is.
Kotara is an easy run along the ridge corridor from our home ground in Charlestown, which makes it an easy suburb to be honest in: if the fix is small, the trip doesn't tempt anyone to inflate it.
